RANDOLPH
'PETER' MARKLAND - Drums, vocals, percussion, songwriting
A
native of Kingston, Jamaica, Peter has toured Europe and the
US with recording artist Pablo Moses and is now the powering
force behind Sweet Justice. He started playing piano and guitar
at the age of eleven, then picked up drums at 14. Peter
was also a well-known member of Sounds of Montego Bay for
more than a decade.
CLEMENT
LIGHTBOURNE - Guitar, lead vocals, songwriting
This
charismatic and electrifying front man from Turks and Caicos
has been performing since the age of twelve in wide variety
of festivals, concerts and events. With his band Sky Lake,
he has performed throughout the Caribbean as well as with
Cayman Islands favorites Memory of Justice and Barefoot Man.
As a front line entertainer for Tropic Star Cruise Lines,
Clement took his talent around the Caribbean once again.
Today, as lead singer of Sweet Justice, he has made South
Florida his personal stage with an upful, energetic and captivating
performance style.
CECIL
PETER - Bass, vocals, songwriting
Hailing
from St. Lucia, Cecil's fame now shines across Florida and
the Caribbean for his unique and soulful bass lines.
He counts Paul Chambers, Jaco Pastorius, Charlie Parker, James
Jamerson, the Wailers, Barrette Brothers and 70s funk as his
greatest influences.
KENO
HALL - Keyboards, vocals
A
classical training rings forth in the keyboard moves, from
classic to
jazz, executed by this Turks and Caicos Islander, whose grooves
and lines are both original and memorable. Also an accomplished
bassist, Keno brings multiple talents to the band, helping
create their stand-apart sound.
LESLIE
BAPTISTE - Rhythm and lead guitar
Professionally
trained in music education, Leslie honed his jazz roots playing
for two years with Jamaican jazz great, Ernest Ranglin.
He studied jazz improvisation with Dave Wisebout and has also
played with Jaco Pastorius. Leslie is a former member of some
of Florida's best-loved reggae bands, including Tishan, Pluto,
Rising Tide, Island Heat and Being. He is a native of
Dominica.

BAPTIST - Percussion, vocals, drums
A
native of Belize, the high-energy Soca Baptist has backed
such greats as Beenie Man, Percy Sledge, Big Al Downey, Snagga
Puss, Little Kirk and Tonto Metro. A 20-year veteran
of the Cayman Islands music scene, he was a member of The
Settlers (Melvin Augustine), New Breed Uprising, and Cayman
Edition, opening for Byron Lee, Spice N Company, and Red Plastic
Bag. In Belize, Baptist was a member of bands BMP Dynamics,
the Smith Brothers and the Spinners.
BABACAR
MBENGUE - African drums
A
master drummer from Dakar, Senegal, Mbengeu knew he was born
to drum since he first picked one up at age nine. He
has performed and taught all varieties of African drums, including
djembe, bugrabo, talking drums and djun djun, in Senegal,
Spain, Canada, and the US. A virtuoso whose live performances
are mesmerizing, Mbengeu has provided the African rhythm for
jazz, hip-hop and reggae musicians from around the world. |
